I've been crunching solely for SETI since mid Sep 2005, and during that time I managed to amass the incredible total of 3700 credits till Feb 2006 inclusive.....wow eh?....NOT really....I was somewhat frustrated with this low count given that my tired little XP with only 1.80 GHz Celeron was working overtime trying to do "everything" (my sole computer) for me.  Starting in mid Feb 2006, I installed the optimization that Maltese Falcon offered, and with his assistance, during the past 2 months, I've added an additional 7800 credits.  That's 3700 in 5 months and an additional 7800 in only 2 months.  Now that is an impressive gain in productivity. Now I have more time to use my sole computer for other things and not worry about 'spinning my wheels' with low credit counts or "let her rip" and really see the numbers add up.  I can even shut the system down for periods of time to save some $ on power bill and still be better off than last year.  This is going to be even more valuable when BOINC WU's require more processing time with the upcoming changes to signal analysis.  Thanks for the upgrade, Ray  -  Dragon1,  Canada

Sorry for the delay, but I wanted to wait and report on the expected success of the new client. And it has been, as you can see by my two attached jpg’s, it has been a raging success and I’m crunching those numbers like there’s no tomorrow. It’s been 7 days now since I “downgraded” from the 4.18 client to the optimized 4.11 client and my average is now 499 from a low 200 and it still hasn’t leveled out yet, statistics from the client shows it steadily climbing since then with no peaks or valleys. Roughly a 150% addition to my throughput and still rising, thanks for the advice to change  -  Nemo,  England  (30-Apr-2006)

Sorry for the late response.  I have successfully optimized my computer! (waytago). I received Falcon's email about updated apps and just followed my nose! In the short term I have almost doubled my RAC.  I understand that it may take some time to stabilize? I'm guessing as older results are reported and I'm matched against computer in my speed range?  Either way a definite improvement!! Thanks for all the HELP. TEAM-GENESIS ROCKS
